REGINA ANNE CHANEY-ANDAGAN
After graduation I attended PG Junior College (then in Suitland) with Wayne Hilmer, Donnie Wise and Fran Mandeville, for about 2 years. At that time I was working in DC at the American Automobile Association with Karin Kovacic Prentiss.
I married Sgt Stephen J Stoddard, USAF stationed at Bolling AFB, on February 23, 1963. In December 1964 we were transferred to Edinburgh, Scotland and he was assigned to Kirknewton Air Station. Our daughter, Angela Aileen Stoddard was born in Edinburgh on June 25th 1965. They announced the closing of Kirknewton AS on her birthday. Less than a year later we were in Hof/Saale, Germany which was great. While in Germany I was able to work in the Child Care Center for the entire time. In July 1967 my father died. In 1968 we were transferred to San Angelo, Texas. There I was working as Accounts Receivable Bookeeper at the NCO Club at Goodfellow AFB. While there Steve and I were divorced in 1971. I married Sgt Chadwick Anthony Andagan, US Army, in October 1971. Our daughter, Alyssa Lei Andagan was born in San Angelo, TX on July 20, 1973. Chad resigned from the Army in October 1973 and took us to his home in Hilo, Hawaii. In 1976 we were divorced and Alyssa and I went to live with friends in rural Nicholas County, WV. I got a job as a Parts Manager/Service Advisor in a GM car dealership. I was licensed to inspect motor vehicles in the state of West Virginia. In 1980 I relocated to the Eastern Panhandle of WV near my mother who had moved near Shepherdstown, WV. I worked in Life and Health insurance in Frederick, MD and was licensed to sell Life and Health insurance in Maryland and West Virginia. In 1984 I moved to a job in Rockville, MD with Specials Agents Mutual Benefit Association (SAMBA) which is a federal life and health insurance company, at that time only for FBI employees. Later DEA, and other security agencies were added. I paid claims and other office positions.
In 1986 my intestine ruptured and after the surgery my right arm was paralyzed. I was on Disability for nearly 2 years before I could use my right arm well enough to drive. In 1990 I had my first and only massive heart attack and was again on disability. I had bypass surgery in 1991 and was back at work by the end of 1991. I then was riding in one of those commuter vans to and from work. In July 1992 the van wrecked coming home from work and my back was fractured. Disability again. In 1997 I had a 3rd but smaller heart attack. In the spring of 1998 I had a 4th heart attack and on December 24th 1998 my 5th and last heart attack. At this time I decided I could no longer drive the 130 miles a day to Rockville. I started receiving Social Security Disability in July 1999. Then I received Disability retirement from my job in April 2000.
